The College’s Hiking Club organized a number of outdoor excursions for our students every year to provide them with opportunities for pleasurable learning in a nature environment. On February 26, members of the Hiking Club went to Lion Rock for a hiking trip. Ms Holland Corson, our newly arrived Student Intern from the US, also joined the activity.
The weather was chilly that day. Teachers and students had to endure the cold strong wind while climbing up the mountain, but the effort was worth it as they could enjoy the breathtaking views of Kowloon Peninsula and Hong Kong Island from the peak of Lion Rock. During the excursion, students had a good chat with Ms Corson. They told her about the history of Hong Kong and the story behind the Amah Rock(望夫石). Our students, on the other hand, also learnt more about the culture, history and life in the US from Ms Corson. It was really a rewarding experience for our students.
