On March 4, 45 S4 students from our College participated in a day camp organized by TREATS, a registered charity organization in Hong Kong. The aim of the camp is to promote social integration and to help students develop a caring attitude towards the underprivileged in society.
During the camp, students took part in different interactive games and activities with some mentally challenged youngsters. The camp concluded with a reflection session, during which students shared their experiences and feelings about the camp. All participants agreed that it was a rewarding experience. Not only did they get a better understanding of the problems and difficulties that the mentally challenged face, but they also learnt to respect and appreciate people with different abilities and backgrounds.
