To increase students’ exposure to English performing arts, the College arranged for some S2 students to take part in the “Learning English Through Musical Project”, organised by the Chief Executive Awards for Teaching Excellence Teachers’ Association (CEATETA).
On that day, students watched the musical A Tribute to Great Teachers, which is an adaptation from Helen’s Keller’s autobiography The Story of My Life. It is a touching story that recounts Helen’s Keller’s triumph over deafness and blindness, as well as her experiences with lifelong companion and teacher Sullivan Anne. The musical pays special tribute to teachers and caretakers for their sacrificial love in helping students to grow intellectually and morally.
Students thoroughly enjoyed the musical. Apart from learning valuable life lessons from this inspiring story, they also had an opportunity to learn authentic English in an interesting way.
