Welcome back to school after the summer break!
The new school year kicked off with the opening ceremony on September 3. After introducing some new teaching staff, our Principal Ms Cheung gave a warm welcoming speech. She reminded everyone of our school’s core values, namely appreciation, respect, responsibility and perseverance, and gave a brief overview of our school’s major concerns this school year. In particular, she encouraged every one of us to strive for academic excellence, to practise goal-setting and reflective thinking, and to lead a healthy lifestyle. As a concluding remark, she ended her speech with an inspiring quote by Kalpana Chawla, the first woman of Indian origin to go to space, “The path from dreams to success does exist. May you have the vision to find it, the courage to get on to it, and the perseverance to follow it. Wishing you a great journey.”
Ms Coco Lau and Ms Karis Lee, alumni who have close affiliation with the College, were invited to talk to their fellow schoolmates that day. Coco graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and she will pursue further study in the field of music in Austria. She shared with our junior form students her experience in tackling challenges in pursuit of dreams. Karis, who achieved good results in the recent HKDSE exam, gave our senior form students some tips on preparing for public exams.
With many more exciting events awaiting to take place, we are sure this will be a fruitful and rewarding school year for all of us!
