The College has always strived to cultivate students’ life-long interest in music and aesthetic sense through participation in a wide range of music activities. Students can choose to join from a number of music groups, namely School Band, School Choir, Strings Ensemble and Handbell Team.
On September 3, an Instrument Tryout Day was organized for our S1 students. The event kicked off with a briefing on the various school music teams and instrumental classes available. Following the School Band’s performance of the song Anything Goes – Friendship, which was rearranged by our School Band director Mr Yongyut, some student leaders demonstrated the timbre of various instruments as well as the techniques for playing. All the S1 students were eager to try out different woodwind, brass and percussion instruments.
The Instrumental Tryout Day was a great success, with a number of students expressing interest in joining the College’s various music groups. Apart from regular practices, they will have the opportunities to take part in different performances and competitions through which they can showcase their musical talents and develop confidence.
