To enhance students’ interest in Visual Arts and their ability to appreciate artworks, the General Arts Department arranged for S5 students to visit two exhibitions in late March and early April.
During the excursion to the ‘Art Central’ in Hong Kong, students had a chance to appreciate various forms of artwork (such as paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs and videos) from the 20th and 21st century by leading galleries and renowned artists all over the world. The visit was really enlightening for our students. Apart from getting inspirations from the masterpieces, they were also motivated to consider exploring a career in the art-related field.
Our students later visited ‘The ‘Exhibition of Students’ Visual Arts Work’ organized by the Education Bureau, where there were displays of HKDSE past papers as well as the SBA works of candidates in last year’s exam. Through this visit, students got to have a better understanding about the requirement of a good Visual Arts portfolio and became better poised to achieve good results in the HKDSE exam.
