To enrich students’ other learning experiences and widen their exposure to different art forms, the College arranged for S4 students taking Visual Arts to attend a fashion design workshop hosted by local fashion designer Ms Jessica Lau, who is the cofounder of the fashion brand Blind by JW.
In this workshop, students were availed of the opportunity to learn from Ms Lau how to make their own “weaveasy mobile bag”, a product that is designed by the brand. Apart from the techniques of assembling a bag, students also learnt about some basic mix and match skills. The workshop concluded with Ms Lau sharing her inspirational story of her experience and aspirations as a fashion designer in Hong Kong.
The activity allowed students to gain insights into the work of a fashion designer and explore possibilities of pursuing a future career in the creative industry. It was a truly fruitful and rewarding experience for all the participating students.
