On December 6, 51 of our students participated in the "Ode to Joy - Concert of Ten Thousand" co-organized by RTHK, the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and Opera Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Ode to Joy is a multi-media gala concert. It aims to combine the two elements of “youth” and “music” to promote the beauty of music to youngsters. Through a diversity of musical movements and new performances, it depicts the experience young people go through as they grow up, which, though with frequent ups and downs, composes a celebrated, once-in-a-lifetime young musical movement. The highlight of the programme includes a choir of approximately 10,000 participants performing "Ode to Joy" from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. With new and innovative elements added, the popular tune of "Ode to Joy" is expected to break the Guinness World Records: Most People Singing Live on a Radio Broadcast.Click here for more photos / video.
