2015-05-15   Mara! Jazz / World Music Ensemble

The “Mara!” an Australian based Jazz and World Music Ensemble performed for the S2 – S5 students on May 15 during the General Arts Afternoon. The ensemble performed music which fuses folk roots with modern jazz expressionism, adding influences from rock to early music, while journeying through Anglo-Celtic, Middle Eastern, Balkan and Mediterranean traditions. After their performance, the ensemble conducted a workshop to teach students Turkey style of dance and had a jam session with the student musicians.
