2017-03-11   A Lecture on Modern Chemistry

On March 11, a number of our S5 Science students attended a lecture on modern Chemistry co-organized by The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Royal Society of Chemistry. The aim of the lecture was to arouse students’ interest in Chemistry and to keep them abreast of the latest developments in this field.

The lecture, which was custom-designed to suit the understanding of secondary school students, focused on DNA repair and organic Chemistry and pharmaceuticals. It exposed students to the frontier of chemical research as well as to the applications of Chemistry in daily lives. Students found the sharing session particularly inspiring as they could learn about the journeys of Nobel Prize winners in the field of DNA repair.
