The HKU School-Partnership Programme 2020, co-organized by our English Department and the Faculty of Education of the University of Hong Kong, was held successfully on 10 November, 2020. Forty-nine Master of Arts (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) students conducted listening and speaking lessons for our S1 students in 10 groups on Zoom from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by a post-lesson joint reflection with our English teachers.
This micro-teaching event allowed our students to experience the most up-to-date pedagogical strategies conducted by HKU-trained student teachers, while enabling the HKU student-teachers to learn from the professional members of our English Department — Ms. Petunia Kingsley, Mrs. Sheena Jolly, Ms. Nalini Fernandes, Ms. Muriel Weng, Ms. Iris Chan and Mr. Carl Carabio.
It has been an extremely enriching, enlightening and positive learning experience for everyone participating in the event.
