To enhance students’ interest in Visual Arts and their ability to get inspiration for their artwork from our community, the General Arts Department organized an excursion for S4 and S5 Visual Arts students to the nearby Yau Ma Tei District on November 4 and 5 respectively.
During the excursion, students applied the photographic techniques they had learned in lessons to capture the uniqueness and diversity of the Yau Ma Tei district. The photos taken by the students served as reference materials for some local arts competitions about the district. The activity provided a valuable opportunity for our students to learn more about our community, and at the same time collect first-hand materials for their artwork.
We are pleased to announce that our students obtained encouraging results in two of the Visual Arts competitions on related themes, including Yau Tsim Mong Red Packet Design Competition organized by the Hong Kong Youth Counseling Association, and Yau Tsim Mong: In the Eye of the Beholder Photo Competition, organized by HOME Centre and Yau Tsim Mong Multicultural Activity Centre.
