Targeted at secondary students, the Engineer in School Programme 2020/21 was launched by CLP under the theme of “Explore a New Power Journey”. The Programme provides a range of STEM activities for students to learn more about climatic changes and renewable energy.
Max Tsang (5R), 5I Skylar Li (5I) and Ryan Shum (5S) who joined the above-mentioned programme were awarded with the opportunity to work with CLP staff to design the facilities of the CLP E-Playground, the first energy-themed playground opened on April 12 with attractions meant to educate visitors on power generation, transmission and supply. At CLP’s invitation, Skylar and Ryan performed in the CLP E-Playground Opening Ceremony and introduced the facilities to the guests, including the Secretary for the Environment Mr Wong Kam-sing, the Managing Director of CLP Power Mr TK Chiang and Non-executive Director of CLP Holdings Limited Mr Philip Kadoorie.
It was truly a valuable STEM experience for our students – they were encouraged to develop innovative thinking and to adopt hands-on and minds-on problem-solving skills in real life like an engineer.
